The Full Story

About our Pastor

Pastor Wes Witcher Jr. is the son of Bishop Emeritus Charlie W. Witcher,
Sr., and the late First Lady Brenda J. Witcher. A native of Callands, VA, his
Christian journey began at The Mt. Zion Way of the Cross Church under the
leadership of the late Bishop Robert B. Fuller. In his time there, he would be
baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and serve as a musician.

Pastor Wes graduated from Chatham High School in 1989 and went on to
complete his education at The Lowery University of Music in Rosemont,
Illinois. His mother, a gifted organist, nurtured the musical gift God bestowed
upon her son from his youth onward; as he grew older and in Christ, he
extended his music ministry to other instruments and roles in the Kingdom.

After releasing his own musical project in 2000, PK & Determined, Pastor
Wes traveled the country performing with numerous gospel groups and
even opened for recording artist Pastor Shirley Caesar. Later, he would be
an associate producer and songwriter for an album with The Noel C. Taylor
Community Choir, writing its title track, “Get Your House in Order.” During
these years, he became fondly known to many as “Doc Wes, the Bass
Player” or simply, “Doc.”

In January of 2006, Pastor Wes answered the call to the clergy. He served
faithfully as Minister of Music at New Life Apostolic Church in Chatham, VA
under the leadership of its founder, his father Bishop C.W. Witcher, Sr. In
2009, he was ordained an Elder and later called into evangelism. He
gleaned wisdom from his service as Interim Pastor of the Mount Rock
Baptist Church of Forest, VA. In 2013, he would be called to First Church of
Jesus in Altavista, VA; after a year, he fully transitioned to the role of Pastor,
serving in that branch of the vineyard for seven years.

During that time, Pastor Wes was elevated to the Office of Bishop in August
2018 by the late Apostle Floyd E. Nelson, Sr., Former Presiding Bishop of
Bibleway Churches International. Apostle Nelson spoke prophetically, that
the journey would not end there and that Pastor Wes would also be reunited
with the ministry of his father.

So it came to pass in September 2021, with the founding of Kingdom
Ministry Church. The following year on December 10, 2022, Bishop C.W.
Witcher, Sr. officially passed the pastoral mantle of New Life Apostolic
Church Ministries to his eldest son to retire as Bishop Emeritus.

Outside of the ministry, Pastor Wes is co-owner of Miracle Hands of
Massage Therapy in Rocky Mount, VA; he is also employed by Change
Cola, Inc. of Roanoke and Altavista, VA as formulation manager. His current
project is building the vision of Preachers’ Kids (PK) Productions, a merging
of ministry and business. PK Productions began by establishing the
Preachers Kid Conference, a forum to empower and uplift children of
preachers across the country; it continues with the installation of audio
equipment and live audio engineering services for gospel concerts,
recording, weddings, and corporate events.

A strong man of faith, Pastor Wes desires to deliver the gospel with such
clarity and impact that it will compel others to Christ’s salvation. Jeremiah
3:15 states, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall
feed you with knowledge and understanding.” He stands firm on Romans
10:17, “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” He
encourages his flock to be “Kingdom people living by Kingdom principles.”

Pastor Wes Witcher, Jr. currently resides in Hardy, VA with his loving wife of
over thirty years, Lorrie; their beautiful daughter, Lauren; and a playful pup,
“Deacon” Bruno.
